The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir
Located on the Bangalore-Mumbai Highway, you will fall in love instantly with the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. It was officially opened in 2017 with great fanfare and blessings of saints of Swaminarayan Sanstha. It’s a centre for peace and prayer and also has diverse cultural and spiritual events and activities.
The Mandir Building and Architecture
The Mandir campus is lavishly spread over 32 acres and has ample parking facility for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. As you enter the temple, you will be awestruck by the gorgeous exteriors, ornate carvings of deities, exquisitely carved pillars, walls, ceilings, and more. The clean surroundings are set with green lawns and grand chattris (outdoor pavilions).
The path to the main temple is richly lined with flower beds, statues, and decorations. And a big staircase will lead you to the temple. The temple is senior citizen-friendly, and an elevator is conveniently accessible for them and the disabled. Apart from which, wheelchairs are also available on rent.
As you enter the inner sanctum, take time out to revel in the carvings that are made of pink stone from Jaipur. The temple has two levels, the upper level has Swaminarayan Bhagwan and the lower level has the Nilkanth varni where one can perform Abhishek. The temple deities include Shri Gaheshji, Shri Hanumanji, Shri Balaji Bhagwan, Shri Sita-Ram Dev, and many more.
The temple campus has a food court (Premvati Uphar Gruh), which serves a variety of food. There is a kids’ zone, book’s stall, and facilities for washroom and drinking water are also available.
