 Location: Near Chiplun

Hedvi is a quaint village near Chiplun, famous for its Dashbhuja Ganapati Temple and its immensely beautiful and pristine beach.

Well known for the ‘Dashbhuja Ganapati, Hedvi offers a peaceful and secluded destination in the form of a beautiful temple perched on the Hedvi beach. Located 275kms from Pune and 50 kms from Chiplun, it is neither too far nor too near, making it ideal for a two-day trip.

Located in the small Hedvi village of the Konkan Region, the main tourist attraction is the Ganesha and Lakshmi Devasthan. Built during the Peshwa regime, this ancient Ganesh idol is believed to be built using the eternal Kashmiri marble. Seated at 2 feet above the ground, the Ganapati gazes with 10hands which is the reason for large number of tourists visiting the temple.

Ideal for a weekend getaway, the quiet Hedvi beach is lined with coconut trees. The white sand beach and its rocky shore is located between Ganpatipule and Velneshwar-Guhagar. However, it is advised that a dip in the beach is not the safest idea. Shallow waters near Uma Maheshwari temple can be used for a swim.

3kms away from Dashbhuja temple and behind the Uma Maheshwara Temple, a small gorge is naturally formed called Brahman Ghal.  10 meters long, sea waves rush into this gorge to release a naturally beautiful water column of up to 20 meters high. A must see!

To Reach Hedvi take the Aravali Phata on Mumbai-Goa highway to reach Chiplun-Guhagar Road. Then, 30kms from Guhagar.
