Swami Narayan Mandir … An Exotic Spiritual Experience!!

BAPS Swami Narayan Mandir is a pleasant addition to our Pune. It’s situated on Banglore-Mumbai side of the highway in the valley surrounded by peaceful hills. A great place to enjoy weekend with your family alongside darshan of Swami Narayan. Many people from different parts of the city come to see this place.

Temple is very big with most Hindu deities in-house. Here, you will get to see the beauty of Swami Narayan cuture. It was opened with great fanfare & blessings of saints of Swaminarayan Sanstha. Do visit it to see the beautiful architecture & carvings made of pink stone from Jaipur, Rajasthan. It has 2 levels, the upper level has Swaminarayan Bhagwan & lower level has the Nilkanth varni where one can perform abhishek. Beautifully crafted marble temple with green gardens bask in glory. Many chhatris (pavillions) adorn the premises & there are places to linger about after the darshan.

Eveings are very crowded but mornings are relatively empty.  They have a huge garden as well, but sitting there is not allowed. It has been built on huge span of area & is one of the best examples of great architecture in India. Nice breezy atmosphere and also the colors keep changing after every few minutes in the evening.

Most imprtantly, the premises is with ample parking space. Parking is freetoo. Basic facilities of washroom & drinking water are also available. There is a Kids zone with options to play. It is senior citizen’s friendly. Wheel-chairs are available on rent. There is also a lift for senior citizens, so they can take darshan even on the first floor. There’s a food court too that serves a variety of food items like Ice Cream, Sandwiches, Snacks& Juices..
