Ekvira Aai (Ekvira Devi) is considered as an incarnation of Goddess Renuka. And, as per legend, the temple was constructed by the Pandavas during their exile in the forest. This attractive temple was built in one night and impressed by the devotion of the Pandavas, the Goddess granted them a boon of not being discovered during their secret exile. As you would enter the temple, you can look forward to soaking up the history of the temple.

Located on a hill, you will need to ascend around 500 steps to reach the temple. Surrounded by Karla caves, the temple extends magnificent views. Travelers can revel in the architecture, the vibrant landscapes, and have a memorable time with their dear ones. The temple dons a festive aura, especially during Navaratri and Chaitra. The festivities celebrated in the temple range from traditional dances to folk music, which is a delight.

It is easy to reach the temple, by bus, cab, or car. The parking is convenient, and there is a nominal entry fee to the temple. Near the temple, there are kiosks selling lemon water (limbu paani), buttermilk, and cucumbers. Especially during summers, the refreshments are welcome. It is best to carry water and pack some snacks. Also, as you’d need to ascend steps, remember to wear shoes with good grips. During monsoon, the climb may get tricky and it is best to be cautious and alert.
