A group of 7 glacial lakes at 14000 ft forms source of the Pabbar river.

The lake is enveloped in mysterious stories that tell the tale of its importance in the surroundings. Inhabitants here believe that Lord Shiva took a dip in this lake & rested his crescent shaped moon(Chandra) on the ground, that’s where ’Chandranahan’ name derived. Legends also believe in the existence of supernatural powers in this holy land.
