Incredible Jivdhan Naneghat Trek

The Jivdhan-Naneghat Trek is the ultimate blend of adventure and history. Both Jivdhan Fort and Naneghat are located near the town of Junnar and are a part of the popular ‘Famous 5 Trek’ of the Sahyadris. The other three forts listed under the ‘Famous 5 Trek’ include Shivneri, Chavand and Hadsar.

It takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach Junnar from Pune by road. From Junnar, you need to take a bus, or you can even go by car to Ghatghar, the base village of Jivdhan Fort. Once you reach Ghatghar, you can begin to ascent Jivdhan Fort, which is at a height of about 3,757 feet above sea level. The time needed to reach the top of the fort is about 2 to 3 hours.

The beautiful mountain pass of Naneghat is located quite close to Jivdhan Fort. You can proceed to Naneghat once you descend Jivdhan. There is plenty to see and experience at both Naneghat and Jivdhan Fort including ancient inscription, several caves, ruins and much more.
