Shri Vigneshwar Temple of Ozar is the seventh in the Ashtavinayak Yatra circuit. It is situated about 88 km away from Pune. Located on the banks of Kukadi River, the temple was probably built in the 17th century. Chimaji Appa, the brother of Maratha ruler Peshwa Baji Rao I restored the temple and also constructed its golden ‘Shikar’ (spire).
The trunk of the Vigneshwara Ganpati is turned to the left, with diamonds embedded in his forehead and navel. Emeralds have been embedded in the eyes of the idol. The idol is flanked by the statues of Lord Ganesha’s consorts Riddhi and Siddhi on each side. The temple has a spacious courtyard with a grand entrance. Its exteriors are embellished with beautiful sculptures and murals.
