Anjarle is a quaint coastal village near Dapoli famous for its Kadyavarcha Ganpati Temple.

If you are looking for a holiday destination in Konkan away from all the crowds that popular beaches attract, Anjarle is just the right place for you.

Anjarle is around 200 kms away from Pune and may be reached within 4-5 hours. State transport buses are available from Pune. One can also use a local jeep or a rikshaw to get there from Dapoli

Located at a distance of 25 kms from Dapoli, Anjarle in Ratnagari District is a secluded village near an estuary of the river Jog. Popular for the temple of the” Kadyavarcha Ganpati”, Anjarle not only offers a magnificent unspoiled beach but also the solitude that one often wishes to experience when on a holiday!

The beach in Anjarle which is at a walking distance from the village is one of the most picturesque in all of Konkan. With a background of palm and coconut trees, white sands and magnificent waves a sunset by the beach will definitely be etched in your memory forever.  Take a walk down the beach – If you are lucky you might just spot a flock of seagulls or a sea turtles that are frequent visitors on this beach!

“Kadya varcha Ganpati” is almost synonymous with Anjarle and this is what the village is best known for. Located atop a hill this magnificent Lord Ganesha temple is considered a “Jagrut Deiva Sthan”. The temple is unique because of the rare Ujvya Sondecha Ganpati idol.You can get a breathtaking view of the thick plantation of coconut trees, betel nut trees, Suvarnadurg Fort, blue sea and surrounding hills from the top. There is a pond in front of the temple where you can feed big fish and turtles. Beside the Ganesh temple there is also a small but beautiful temple of Lord Shiva. A motorable road is available right up to the temple or the more adventurous amongst you can climb your way to the top via stone stairs.

  • Anjarle is a really tiny village hence only basic amenities are available here. There are no hotels or restaurants. But locals offer rented accommodations in their houses as well as deliciously authentic Kokani food – experience it to truly mingle in the Konkani culture!
